In 2020, CURE International joined with the Zimbabwe Orthopaedic Trust to form the CURE Children’s Hospital of Zimbabwe which specialises in the treatment and care of children living with physical disabilities. The $5 million dollar hospital was built and refurbished by the Zimbabwe Orthopaedic Trust in partnership with the Zimbabwean government and sits on 10 acres of land. The hospital campus comprises 4 buildings, housing 45 patient beds in the newly refurbished children’s ward. The hospital also houses a newly constructed operating theatre block with three operating rooms. There is a central administration block that houses offices, an outpatient clinic, kitchen and laundry. The CURE Children’s hospital of Zimbabwe is the first hospital in Zimbabwe to serve vulnerable children and families through the provision of orthopaedic and spiritual care and is set to open early 2021.
